What Renew Active Is
Renew Active is included with many UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans at no additional cost. Like SilverSneakers, it comes through the health plan rather than being bought separately, and what is included depends on the specific plan a member is enrolled in.
The benefit generally covers a gym membership at participating locations, fitness classes, an online fitness program of workout videos, and a brain health component through AARP Staying Sharp — on the reasoning that keeping the mind busy belongs next to keeping the body busy.
Because the two Medicare fitness programs sit on different plans, most people in our classes have one or the other, rarely both. Either way you end up in the same room, on the same morning, doing the same work.
What it means here
- Renew Active members are welcome at our Belle Glade and South Bay classes.
- Bring the confirmation code your plan issues you the first time you come.
- Benefits and participating locations vary by plan and can change — check with UnitedHealthcare before assuming a specific class is covered.
- As with SilverSneakers, we cannot confirm eligibility. Your plan can, and the number is on the back of your card.
